Father Peter Kennedy celebrated his last Mass at St Mary’s, South Brisbane.

This allowed the new administrator, Fr Ken Howell, to reclaim the parish for the Archdiocese of Brisbane.

The handover between parish and archdiocesan representatives, marked a new chapter in the eight-month feud that led Archbishop John Bathersby to dismiss Fr Kennedy over the 71-year-old’s refusal to change teachings and practices in his church.
