Gaetano Crocetti
14th Nov 1925 – 17th April 2010

Gaetano, one of the founding fathers of the Bunbury Diocese, was a priest whose motto in life could well have been: “Thy will be done”. He was a wonderful companion, gentle confessor, great joke teller (especially on the golf course in the endeavour to put you off your game) and a generous host at his presbytery when his mother was cooking!

Born in Penne, Italy the family came to Australia when Gaetano was nine and he entered St.Charles’ Seminary at the age of 16. After completing his philosophy course at Guildford, he studied theology at Manly, was ordained in 1951 and spent the next 49 years ministering throughout the diocese.

Gaetano’s sisters, Sr Immaculata, Sr Maria and Sr Emmanuel who lovingly cared for him were with him when was called to eternal life.

Well done, good and faithful servant…
